Get an Edge with Skype for Business
The new innovation, which will be included in Microsoft Office 365, is named “Skype for Business". This provides a captivating new client experience. Skype for Business will change the way traditional business is being done. It will incorporate the modern experience business leaders strive for.
Skype, originally founded in 2003, has reinvented the way individuals communicate, share pictures and negotiate business deals. The new innovations Skype has to offer for business are a real game changer; however, keeping in touch with family and friends remains just as simple.
Microsoft Lync, known for its reliability, security, compliance and control, has merged with the Skype product and brand to offer Skype users this same sense of security. The user friendly features of Lync will be featured in your Skype experience. When combined with Skype’s beautiful interface, this provides one with the ultimate communication experience.
Skype and Lync Combined
Skype for Business provides businesses the opportunity to communicate with millions of individuals at their fingertips. It incorporates the security of Microsoft Lync that gives business owners comfort with the elegance of Skype to provide a safe, interactive, motivating and productive experience.
Some of the powerful features of Skype for Business include:
- User-friendly Skype icons used for making calls
- The ability to add video
- And the most intuitive feature: Transferring a call is now one click away.
One of the main new features that Skype for Business will offer is the ability to place video calls. Lync already offers instant messaging (IM) and audio calling. Video calling expands on this to let you connect with any business professional on any device that has Skype. These devices include mobile devices, tablets, laptops and desktop computers.
Current Lync customers will be able to take full advantage of these new services by simply updating from Lync 2013 to the 2015 Skype for Business solution. You do not need to purchase any new hardware to update to the new service. If you have Office 365, your Lync online will be updated to Skype for Business by the end of May 2015. This change will result in new messaging and classifications in ones administrative portal.
The Skype for Business client will work if you download Office 2013 ProPlus from Microsoft Download Center. With all of these great new features for businesses and networking, Skype for
Business could really be a power tool for your organization.
Skype for Business is just not a rebrand. It’s a new game changer that you give you a competitive edge.
