Special Trick to Deploying XenApp 7.6

Special Trick to Deploying XenApp 7.6 | Citrix | Chicago IT | Equilibrium IT | EQInc.comWhen deploying Citrix XenApp 7.6, it’s commonplace for us to use a template to quickly deploy additional machines. One trick to remember is that cloning the very first machine (Golden Image) requires a special step regarding the Delivery Controller service.

After you clone this machine to a new server and after running sysprep, you need to add it as a Delivery Controller to the XenApp Site. But, when launching Studio, you will never be prompted for the Join an Existing Site process.

To get this to show up, you have to run Citrix Studio from a standard MMC. You can then add the new controller to an existing site. The process then would be to remove the original server as a Delivery Controller. I hope this helps you with your XenApp 7.6 deployments.
